On December 1, 2022, the "Motorcycle and electric bicycle Occupant helmet" was released, and it began to be implemented nationwide from July 1, 2023, to fully replace the "motorcycle Occupant helmet". The State Administration for Market Regulation, together with the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, will organize relevant standardization technical committees and technical institutions to revise and issue the national standard on the basis of the 2010 version of the National standard for Motorcycle Occupant Helmets. The standard expands the scope of application, and on the basis of the original motorcycle helmet, the type and technical requirements of the electric bicycle occupant helmet are included in the standard for the first time, filling the gap in the standard and solving the problem of no standard to rely on. Refined the product specifications, combined with the Chinese head shape characteristics, the helmet size specifications increased from 3 categories to 5 categories, taking into account the wearing requirements of children and adults, in the helmet shape proposed three types such as full helmet, 3/4 half helmet, 1/2 half helmet.
